Amsterdam's Smallest House
Visitors from all over the world have been passing through the Oude Hoogstraat for many years. Many pass the old house at number 22 without seeing it, others know the secret that is right next to the Oost-Indisch Huis (East-Indian House) and the gate to the Walenkerk: an attractive place where time stands still. Welcome to Amsterdam's Smallest House! With only 2.02 meters wide and 5 meters deep, the three floor monument is the smallest independent house in Amsterdam.
At the moment Amsterdam's Smallest House is home to a beautiful tea and ceramic boutique. Special are the aromatic, exotic, fruity, spicy or firm blends, often with an imaginative name. In addition, there is a wide choice of earl gray (7 types), rooibos (15 types) and chai (8 types) and special pre-packaged teas from suppliers from all over the world. The range of confectionery and drinks - chocolate, honey, nougat, fudge and liqueur - mainly comes from local producers.
Tea rooms
There are other surprises on the first and second floors: the smallest tea rooms in Amsterdam! The atmospheric ambiance, the special assortment and the personal attention make a visit to the private tea rooms a unique experience. Feel free to ask the owner to take a look inside.
