Wynand Fockink
"Ssstt, here the Genever is resting" is written in large curled letters above the entrance of Wynand Fockink in the Pijlsteeg. At the end of the 17th century Wynand Fockink started a liqueur distillery at this location. Up to this day, this practice has continued; here liqueurs and genevers are still being made using the same 17th century traditional craft methods. More than 70 Dutch liqueurs and genevers can be tasted in an authentic environment in the old time honoured way: bowing to the drink and slurping the first sip from a traditional tulip glass.
Historical tasting room
The authentic tasting room still has a 17th century character and a wide variety of genevers and liqueurs are served. Among the various own liqueurs are many old Dutch liqueurs, such as ‘Volmaakt Geluk’ (Perfect Bliss), ‘Bruidstranen’ (Bride’s Tears) and ‘Hansje in de Kelder’ (Jack in the Cellar). Liqueurs such as ‘De Boswandeling’ (A Walk in the Woods) and ‘Half & Half’ have made Wynand Fockink world famous. In addition to the delicious genevers (Superior), liqueurs and fruit brandies, you can also enjoy excellent draft beers.
