Café ZILT is a small and intimate bar on the Zeedijk, in the heart of Amsterdam. They are well-known for their large range of beers and whiskies. They offer a lot of choice, but also a lot of quality: both in the offer and in the service and personal approach. Owners Michael and Diana personally ensure that everyone has a great evening.
Beer café
Café ZILT has 80 specialty beers: no fewer than 12 of these are always on draft. Jupiler and Hertog Jan specialty beer are permanently included in the beer range and furthermore, it is a surprise how the 'line-up' is composed. Blonde, dark, sweet, bitter, local, European, American: everything is possible. Bottles and kegs of specialty beer rest in the cellar until they are consumed.
Whisky café
Café ZILT is also a whiskey café: they love whiskey here and they proudly present a growing number of single malt whiskeys and bourbon (at the moment there are 300 different kinds). On the 'top shelf' you will find, for example, Zacapa and Don Papa rum, Ocho tequila, Baron Otard cognac and Tanqueray Ten as well as Hendrick's gin. Difficult to choose? Order a whiskey flight: 3 different whiskeys within a specific theme, served with three snacks and a glass of water. Be surprised!
Whisky tasting
At ZILT they like to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the beautiful products during a tasting. Whiskey fanatic Michael talks about the whiskies, which are served with matching snacks such as chocolate, dates and cheese. In our opinion, the best whiskey tasting in Amsterdam, suitable for beginners and advanced whiskey drinkers.
